Statistics from 2021 (TN&MT) show that on average, Vietnam generates around 1.8 million tons of plastic waste per year, ranking among the top 20 countries with the highest amount of waste and exceeding the global average by 10%. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, plastic waste accounts for approximately 12% of the total waste generated from daily activities and production. This reality demonstrates that environmental protection requires the collective cooperation of society as a whole, including the role of businesses in proactively managing waste, implementing waste classification at the source, and committing to reducing plastic waste.

At Celadon Sports Club, specifically, and Gamuda Land (HCMC) in general, by applying ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Green Building Index, GreenRE, and ISCA standards as the evaluation criteria and foundational principles for all operations, the company has taken important practical steps in education, communication, and the adoption of exemplary behaviors for environmentally-friendly activities and sustainable development.

Officially, as of November 20, 2022, Celadon Sports Club has completed the replacement of overflow troughs in the large and small swimming pool areas. Previously, the swimming pool area used an average of 300 to 320 meters of 300mm thick ABS plastic, with maintenance costs reaching hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong for six months of operation. However, now the club has replaced 100% of the overflow troughs with granite stone troughs, completely ending the use of plastic in the swimming pool area.

With this progress, Celadon Sports Club once again demonstrates its commitment to sustainable environmental protection, in line with the criteria set by the corporation: "Sincere - Responsible - Original." To celebrate the success of the campaign, the club's management pledges to carry out at least three annual campaigns related to education, communication, and practical guidance for members and staff, aiming to replicate the environmental protection model proactively, practically, and efficiently.
